I just remembered the existance of my mum's Blood Brothers CD. Haven't heard it in years, but the songs never really leave your head- or heart.
From what I can remember, Blood Brothers is a musical about the Johnstone twins, Mickey and Eddie, seperated at birth after their poor mother is persuaded by her middle-class employer, Mrs Lyons to let her raise one of the twins as her own. Mrs Lyons inists that the boys must never know of their true connection; according to superstition, brothers who learn that they were seperated at birth will both die instantly. However, although the twin's mothers are able to keep their dark secret from their sons, they are unable to keep their sons from each other.
